OAC State Tournament

This past weekend was the OAC State Tournament.  This tournament holds the top 32 in the state.  Let that sink in, 1 of the top 32 kids in the ENTIRE STATE OF OHIO!  The season has been over for about a month now but these 4 kids wanted to prove to themselves that they are one of the best.  That does not come without a price.  It takes more practice, more workouts, more mental preperation, more physical conditioning.  We are very proud of all the kids and want to thank them all for a great season!  We would also like to thank all the parents, coaches, family and friends for their support to our great program.  We pumped our fists in victory, shared tears in defeat, laughed with each other and expierienced something great, our kids growing into champions.

• Jared Goldberg - This was Jared's first trip to OAC's.  He went out and fought like a warrior.  His tenacity and hard work may not have landed him on the podium this year but look out this captain is certainly posied for a championship!
• Jake Baxter- We witnessed some great things from Jake.  He took a loss in his first match by the eventual state champion.  That didn't phase him and he went into his blood round down with 20 seconds to go and digs deep and pulls out a 1 point victory!  That is heart and grit!!
• Jake Starkey - First year at OAC's and Jake rips through his opponents and hits the podium with an 8th place finish!  Recording two pins and a tech fall in this tournament is outstanding!  Jake puts in the work pushing his limits and collecting hardware.  You have improved so much this year and have made us proud. We are ready for all the great things that are coming! #HOWLANDPRIDE
• Tyson Seesholtz - T-Rex has one of the best tournaments we have ever seen and stands tall on the podium with a 7th place finish.  Pinning machine as he racks up a total of 5 pins in this tournament, and he is 9!!!  One pin was against the OHWAY state runner up!  That kind of performance is BAGUBA!!  Tyson is a leader in the room and his commitment and hard work will continue to lead us for years to come!  We are excited to see what the future holds!  #TIGERSEAT
